Are your videos getting to the point soon enough?

Two things jumped out at me when I saw this chart from eMarketer.com about how long it took people to recognize the brand or product being sold in a digital video ad.

Over 40% of respondents stated they skipped the ad before recognizing the product or brand being sold.

A further almost 15% stated that it took 5 or more seconds to recognize the product or brand being sold.

So What?  The next time I am working on a digital video ad I wont let the 41.3% click away without first letting them know what we are selling; you might want to do the same.
